Application process

What happens at each step from choosing a programme to your first week of classes, and who does what.

Choose your programme and university

Compare programmes by language of instruction, annual fee, duration, city and total yearly budget. Before deciding, check what your profession requires for recognition and practice in your home country.

  • The programmes page shows each fee, what it covers and when it was last verified.
  • Save the programmes you like to your list and compare them side by side.

Free pre-assessment

When you fill in the form, your advisor calls or writes to you. You talk through your grades, budget, language level and goals and narrow down the programmes that fit. There is no charge for this conversation.

Prepare your documents

Required documents depend on the programme; the most common ones are below. The current list is always the one in the university's call.

  • Passport
  • High school diploma and transcript (bachelor's) or bachelor's diploma and transcript (master's)
  • Apostilled copies with certified translations
  • Passport photo
  • Language certificate for the language of instruction, if required

Application and acceptance letter

Once your documents are complete, your application is sent to the university. You can follow its status and any missing documents in your student panel. The acceptance letter confirms fees and enrolment dates.

Payment and enrolment

Tuition is paid directly to the university, to the account it provides. Original documents and the payment receipt are usually handed in at enrolment in person.

  • Confirm the account details through the university's official channel before paying.
  • Keep receipts and correspondence.

Travel and first week

Arrange housing, book your flight around the enrolment date and apply for your residence permit after you arrive. The North Macedonia guide walks you through the first month.
